Chief Information & Technology Officer

Keith Tyrka is an accomplished technology executive with over 25 years of experience driving innovation in information technology, data strategy, cybersecurity and digital transformation across the nonprofit, education and private sectors. He was appointed Chief Information & Technology Officer for the American Lung Association in April of 2025.

Before joining the Lung Association, Tyrka served as Vice President of Planning, Performance, and Technology at the College of DuPage, Illinois’ second-largest undergraduate institution. In this role, he led enterprise IT, data analytics, cybersecurity and application management efforts, playing a key role in advancing the college’s digital infrastructure and performance strategy.

Previously, he was the Chief Information Officer and HIPAA Security Officer at Aunt Martha’s Health & Wellness, a major nonprofit focused on healthcare and child welfare. There, he led large-scale technology modernization initiatives, cloud migration efforts and enterprise data strategy development. His earlier career includes technology leadership roles at DirectBuy and FirstGroup America.

Tyrka holds an MBA and a BS in Information Systems from DePaul University, and maintains multiple industry certifications, including CISSP and CompTIA CySA+. He also recently earned a certificate in Generative AI for Business Transformation from Cornell University, reflecting his commitment to stay at the forefront of emerging technologies.

Respected for his collaborative leadership and strategic vision, Tyrka is focused on aligning technology with mission-driven outcomes and building scalable, secure and data-informed solutions for the future.
