I'm 77 with moderate COPD. A heavy smoker in my youth, I quit in my early 30s but had still damaged my lungs. I've been vaccinated for COVID-19, the flu, RSV and pneumonia because they are all respiratory illnesses and could kill me. I also wear a mask when in crowded public places – that’s the other reasons I get vaccinated, because I want to protect other people.
