I smoked for more than 30 years. I quit eight years ago. I read an article on my tablet about the CT scan. I asked my doctor about it and I had it done in January.
They found a spot in the left lower lobe. In April it was still there. They did the biopsy and it came back cancer. My doctor told me he was so glad I had it done because it was in Stage 1. They took out my left lower lobe on May 10, 2018. No radiation no chemo. I'm doing great.
One thing is I did not have any symptoms of lung cancer. I know I will have the scan done every year now. I see my lung doctor tomorrow. The low-dose CT scan saved my life.
