In January 2020, I was diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer. My local surgeon didn’t know what it was, so he referred me to Stanford.
Stanford requested a PET scan and an MRI. The MRI revealed something on my lungs. A biopsy confirmed it was cancer.
On April 3, 2020, my husband dropped me off at Stanford, where I underwent both a lobectomy and a mastectomy.
It has now been five years, and my lung oncologist says I am cured. I am a five-year and a 25-year breast cancer survivor.
I did not undergo chemotherapy or radiation for the cancers in 2020. I am 76 years old and feeling great.
