I had smoked for over 40 years. My friend suggested that I get the scan. I had had the scan before and it showed nothing so I figured I would go ahead and get the scan. The scanned revealed a stage 1A 2 spot on my lung. I underwent my hollow needle biopsy which showed the spot was cancer. I was scheduled for a right side lobectomy. Eleven lymph nodes were tested and were all negative. This meant there was no need for chemo or radiation. I am so glad we caught it early enough to avoid that. I do have to follow up in four months for bloodwork and scans just to be sure. The doctor is pretty sure he got it all. I'm just glad we did it when we did.
