I smoked for 36 years even after watching my mother die from lung cancer. I've been a non-smoker for almost 12 years now. I have asthma, COPD, emphysema and now lung cancer. This past June, I was told I have non-small cell adenocarcinoma - it hadn't spread so I chose to have radiation treatments. I had 3 of them and now we watch to see if it's shrinking. I go October 3 to get my first scan - hopefully there is shrinkage and I don't have to go through any more. My side effects so far were fatigue and a rash on both arms.
