Melissa U

Melissa U., MI

My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on December 27. Adenocarcinoma, and mets to the bones. As soon as he returned home from hospital, he was so weak and tired. He did 10 radiation treatments, stopped eating pretty much-and he just passed away this past Sunday on Feb 17th.

We didn't even have TIME to process that he even had cancer and now he's gone!!!! He was only 62. Now my mom is a widow at age 58, and we have no dad to watch his grandchildren grow up. Why don't they do scans on men and women who have had a history of smoking or working with chemicals? My dad was a previous smoker and worked at a GM plant that was known for asbestos and people getting Mesothelioma and lung cancer.

We have his funeral today. I still don't feel like this is real.
