My doctor told me I qualify for a new lung cancer screening. So I went to have it. The following day he called and said they found something on my right lung. So he needed me to have a pet scan. Then they said it lit up and was probably cancer so I had a biopsy. It was confirmed. Stage 1 squamous cell lung cancer.
Two weeks later I was in the lung surgeon's office. He did a upper lobectamy. (Removed half of my lung). Didn’t have to do chemo or radiation. He got it all. I’m cancer free. I go back in December to have another CT scan to make sure it hasn’t came back. I feel blessed.
