My son was recently diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Apparently he has had it for about four years. He is 59 years old and appears to be the picture of health. His family and I were concerned about his cough and he saw a pulmonary doctor. Apparently there was a misunderstanding between him and the doctor. He came home and said the doctor had told him his lungs were too small for his body.
We were sent to a specialist who told him he had pulmonary fibrosis. He has been having tests and was told to come back in two months.
He coughs some, especially in the morning but doesn't feel bad, and still works every day in sales and is on his feet most of the day. He socializes with friends and family and does the things he has always done. He looks healthy and is a bit overweight. I feel this is extremely unusual
For a person who has had this disease for over four years. We are unsure whether to get another opinion as to his diagnosis.
