American Lung Association Introduces New Members and Leadership for 2024-25 National Board of Directors

Today, the American Lung Association unveiled its 2024-2025 board of directors and officers. Elected at the national board meeting held on June 29 in Chicago, this volunteer board will provide strategic and governance oversight to support the Lung Association’s mission of saving lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

"Our board members are a vital part of our organization, each bringing a unique set of skills acquired through years of experience across various sectors such as healthcare, legal, financial and charitable organizations," said Harold Wimmer, President and CEO of the American Lung Association. “Their collective wisdom and unwavering dedication form the cornerstone of our mission, and infuse every decision and initiative with purpose and precision. From shaping strategic direction to fostering partnerships and driving impactful change, these individuals are instrumental in propelling our lifesaving work forward, ensuring that we remain committed to end lung disease. We are privileged to have the guidance of this exceptional group of board members.”

David Hill, MD was installed as board chair, succeeding Cheryl Calhoun, who will transition into the immediate past chair role. Additionally, Michael V. Carstens has been appointed chair-elect, Mark Johnson has been appointed Secretary/Treasurer, and the Lung Association welcomes new board members JuliAn Coy, Vin Gupta, MD, MPA and Joy Kleinmaier, MBA.
