California Voters Strongly Support Clean Air and Climate Action Measure

American Lung Association applauds investments in clean air and public health.

On Tuesday, voters supported a statewide measure that advance clean air and climate protections. Proposition 4, the statewide climate bond, authorizes $10 billion bond investments for water, wildfire prevention, and protection of communities and lands.

“Passing the climate bond is a critical step in California’s ongoing climate leadership, but we know we must continue to meet this public health crisis head on,” said Mariela Ruacho, Senior Clean Air Advocacy Manager for the American Lung Association. “California has the unhealthiest air in the nation, with transportation being the leading source of emissions. California voters took action in support of climate protections, now we need our state leaders to follow suit and provide for stable and sustainable funding to cut transportation pollution.”
