Deborah C.

Last year I had a portion of my right lung removed as the result of lung cancer. Most people who get lung cancer are smokers; I never smoked! Luckily it was caught early enough that no treatment other than surgery was needed.

I now need frequent CT scan of my chest. The most recent shows four areas which could turn into cancer.

I have concerns about the quality of air here. People are constantly burning leaves and wood is used to heat homes. There are days when I must keep my windows closed to keep the smell and pollution out of my home.

I'm from another state, and I find this quite troubling. Why should I be put at risk because Missouri lacks air quality standards?
