Dr. Charlie Strange is Professor of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy and Sleep Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina where he specializes in COPD and rare lung diseases.   He has special expertise in alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency and other genetic lung diseases.  Dr Strange runs a large clinical trials program in COPD and airways disease.  Studies in bronchoscopic therapies, computed tomography (CT) analysis of the lung and airways, and exacerbations of disease are ongoing.
