Partnerships and Collaborations: Washington

Ways we are partnering to improve asthma control through CDC's EXHALE strategies.

Education on Asthma Self-Management

The Lung Association is partnering with the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinics (YVFWC), in Washington and Oregon, to deliver Breathe Well, Live Well, Open Airways for Schools, and Kickin’ Asthma to their members. YVFWC is a network of community health centers in Washington and Oregon serving over 180,000 patients across 40 clinics in 18 communities. The clinics offer comprehensive services for diverse community needs, including medical, dental, and educational services. It emphasizes community-based healthcare, patient-centered approaches, and has received Joint Commission certifications for its quality and use of technology. By partnering with local clinics and training community health workers, we established a network that increased the reach of the program into rural communities.
